Ensure Your Zakat Reaches the Right Hands
Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam. It is not an optional charity; it is an obligation and a purification of wealth. Allah says in the Quran:
“Establish prayer and give zakat.”
The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, taught us that zakat is to be given to those who are eligible and in need.
It is always best to give zakat directly to someone you know who qualifies, so you can be certain it reaches the right person. However, if you do not personally know anyone eligible or are unsure how to distribute it properly, Muhammadi Masjid provides a trusted and responsible option.
Every year, Muhammadi Masjid supports students and families within our community who qualify for zakat. Among them are students studying Quran, Qaida, and working toward becoming Hafiz and Hafiza. Some families are unable to afford tuition and essential expenses. Those who are verified as zakat eligible receive direct support from this fund.
Your zakat does not go toward general masjid expenses. It is distributed only to individuals who qualify according to Islamic guidelines.
Our Goal: $100,000 in Zakat for 2026
With your help, we aim to collect $100,000 this year to support eligible families and students in our community.
Important Reminder About Processing Fees
When giving online, there is a 3.5% processing fee charged by the payment provider.
For example:
If you intend to give $500 in zakat, the 3.5% fee is $17.50.
This means the masjid receives $482.50.
If your intention is to give a full $500 in zakat, we encourage you to increase your payment slightly, for example, to $520, so that after the processing fee, your full zakat amount reaches us and can be distributed properly.
Our goal is to ensure that the exact zakat you intend reaches those who are eligible.
May Allah accept your zakat, purify your wealth, and make it a means of barakah for you and your family. Aameen.
